(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia, MO - The City of Columbia is excited to announce the upcoming dedication ceremony for the new Pollinator Trail Art Post. Community members are invited to attend the event on Thursday, Nov. 13 at the corner of North Providence Road and Blue Ridge Road from 4-4:30 p.m.
The ceremony will begin with a short welcome from Mayor Barbara Buffaloe, followed by remarks from Ward 2 Council Member Vera Elwood, former Ward 2 Council Member Lisa E.A. Meyer, and artist Adrienne Luther. Attendees are encouraged to park at Grace Bible Church located at 601 Blue Ridge Road and walk to the event site.
The project, which was driven by the community, aims to highlight the important role of local pollinators and native wildflowers while promoting environmental stewardship through art and collaboration. The idea was inspired by Meyer's passion for education and community partnerships, which brought together local artists, educators, and City departments.

The art installation was a collaborative effort between Luther and a summer school class from Parkade Elementary. Together, they designed and painted colorful motifs celebrating Missouri's native wildflowers and pollinators. In addition to the art post, newly planted trees have been added to enhance pollinator habitat and contribute to Columbia's growing urban tree canopy.
This project is a partnership among several City departments including Public Works, Community Development, Office of Sustainability, Office of Cultural Affairs, and Tree Board. It showcases the power of teamwork in creating positive change for the community.
