Colorado: Lieutenant Governor Dianne Primavera Appoints Matthew W.E. Bradley to the 13th Judicial District Court, and Meghan P. Saleebey to the 17th Judicial District Court

DENVER ~ Denver - In a move to fill two vacant judgeships in Colorado, Lt. Governor Primavera has appointed Matthew W.E. Bradley and Meghan P. Saleebey to the 13th and 17th Judicial District Courts, respectively.
According to the press release issued by the Lt. Governor's office, these appointments were made under her authority as acting Governor, in accordance with Article IV, § 13 of the Colorado Constitution. The appointment of Mr. Bradley is effective July 1, 2026, while Ms. Saleebey's appointment is effective immediately.
Mr. Bradley brings a wealth of experience to his new role as a judge in the 13th Judicial District Court. He has been serving as a Magistrate in the same district since 2021, handling a variety of cases including domestic, criminal, civil, and juvenile matters. Prior to this, he served as a Municipal Judge for the Town of Dinosaur from 2021-2025 and worked as Of Counsel at Thomas N. Scheffel & Associates, PC from 2021-2024. He also has experience as a Principal at The Law Office of Matthew Bradley, LLC and previously served as a Law Clerk to Chief Justice Nathan Coats in 2020. Mr. Bradley holds a B.S. from Colorado Christian University and earned his J.D. from Notre Dame Law School.

Ms. Saleebey's appointment to the 17th Judicial District Court comes after the retirement of Honorable Sarah E. Stout. She has been serving as Chief Deputy District Attorney in the same district since 2024 and primarily handles criminal cases in her practice. Her previous experience includes serving as a District Court Judge in the 19th Judicial District from 2019-2024 and working as a Senior Deputy District Attorney in the Denver District Attorney's Office from 2009-2018. She also has experience as a District Court Magistrate in the 19th Judicial District and as a Victim Rights Act Specialist in the Office for Victims Programs. Ms. Saleebey holds a B.F.A. from Southern Methodist University and earned her J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law.
These appointments come as a result of Senate Bill 25-024, which created a new judgeship in the 13th Judicial District Court and the retirement of Honorable Sarah E. Stout in the 17th Judicial District Court. Lt. Governor Primavera's selections have been met with praise and confidence from legal professionals, who believe that both Mr. Bradley and Ms. Saleebey will serve with integrity and fairness on the bench.
