Columbia: City to host meeting on City Hall customer service area improvements, Nov. 19

(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia City Hall is set to undergo renovations on its first floor in order to improve the experience for utility customers. The proposed remodel, which will bring all Utility Customer Service (UCS) functions together in one location, aims to simplify and streamline the process for residents.

According to the concept plan, approximately 2,350 square feet around the former Daniel Boone Tavern lobby will be updated. This includes opening up the lobby for better access, enhancing security measures, and reconfiguring seven customer service counters. Additionally, mechanical and electrical systems will be upgraded to support the new layout.

To inform and gather feedback from community members, an interested parties meeting will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 19 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Daniel Boone Lobby in City Hall located at 701 E. Broadway. Residents are encouraged to attend and learn more about the project as well as share their thoughts.

For those unable to attend the meeting in person, a public comment form will be available both at the meeting and online at BeHeard.CoMo.gov/UCS-Treasury-remodel. A brief video showcasing the design concepts can also be viewed on the BeHeardCoMo website.
