Governor Abbott Appoints Four To Finance Commission Of Texas

~ Governor Greg Abbott has recently announced the appointment of two new members and the reappointment of two current members to the Finance Commission of Texas. The commission serves as the governing body for the state's banking, savings and loan, and consumer credit agencies.
William "Chip" Jenkins, a resident of Rockport, has been appointed as one of the new members. Jenkins brings a wealth of experience to the commission, having served as president and CEO of The First State Bank. He is also a board member for the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking and has previously held the position of chairman for the Texas Bankers Association. In addition to his professional achievements, Jenkins is also actively involved in his community as a member of the Board for Tsika Ministries, Inc. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Southern Methodist University (SMU) and a graduate degree in Banking from Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at SMU Cox.

The second new member appointed by Governor Abbott is Bradford "Luke" Ledbetter from Austin. Ledbetter currently serves as CEO of Kestrel Group and brings with him extensive experience in underwriting as he previously held the position of executive vice president and chief underwriting officer at State National Companies. He is also a member of the State Bar of Texas and Providence Church. Ledbetter holds a Bachelor of Arts in Plan II Honors and a Juris Doctor from The University of Texas at Austin, as well as a Master of Laws from the University of Cambridge.
Sharon McCormick has been reappointed to continue serving on the commission. McCormick, who resides in Frisco, is currently a senior loan officer for PrimeLending. She is also actively involved in her community through her support and volunteer work with organizations such as Barry Wood Ministries, Frisco Family Services, and Prestonwood Baptist Church. McCormick holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Texas Tech University and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of North Texas.

The second reappointed member is Laura Nassri Warren from Palmhurst. Warren is the founder and principal owner of The Warren Group Architects, Inc. She is a member of the American Institute of Architects and its Lower Rio Grande Valley Chapter, as well as the Texas Society of Architects. In addition to her professional achievements, Warren is also actively involved in various organizations such as the South Texas College Foundation, Border Trade Alliance, Texas A&M International Advisory Board, The Rio Grande Valley Partnership, and the Development Board for Driscoll Children's Hospital. She also serves as an Executive Board member for the city of Pharr Chamber of Commerce. Warren holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez and has received numerous awards for her work as an architect.
Governor Abbott's appointments and reappointments to the Finance Commission of Texas will serve terms set to expire on February 1, 2032. With their diverse backgrounds and experiences, these individuals are well-equipped to guide and oversee the state's banking, savings and loan, and consumer credit agencies in their important roles.
