TelAve News/10898297
Boise, Idaho ~ Boise, Idaho - In a recent announcement, Governor Brad Little revealed that the State of Idaho has issued a record number of refunds to Idaho taxpayers. According to the governor, a total of 826,370 refunds were issued this year, amounting to over half a billion dollars - $579,108,938 to be exact. This marks a significant increase of 25% in the number of taxpayers receiving refunds and a 17% increase in the total amount of refunds issued compared to last year.

Governor Little expressed his satisfaction with this achievement and credited it to the state's efforts in providing tax relief over the past eight years. He also emphasized their commitment to lowering the tax burden on hardworking families and keeping more money in their pockets. The governor further stated that by conforming with the federal One Big Beautiful Bill and maintaining responsible fiscal management, they are not only ensuring that Idahoans get back more of what they earn but also keeping the economy strong and growing.

In response to this record-breaking number of refunds issued, the Board of Examiners subcommittee held a meeting today where they heard the Idaho State Tax Commission's request for additional funds for the state's tax refund account. The Board will consider taking action on this request during its regular meeting on June 16.

It is worth noting that this request is required by law as the state's refund fund is closely monitored with checks and balances in place to ensure that there are enough funds available for processing refunds. Any remaining amount is then distributed to the General Fund.

This news comes as a relief for many Idaho taxpayers who have been struggling financially due to the ongoing pandemic. With these record refunds being issued, it is expected that it will provide some much-needed financial support for families across the state.
