Spokane: Firework Thrown From a Vehicle Causes Severe Injuries to Another

~ Spokane Police are seeking the help of community members in locating suspects involved in a recent incident. According to Officer Daniel Strassenberg, Public Information Officer, on November 8th, 2025, the SPD responded to a report of a loud noise or possible shooting in the area of 2nd and Wall shortly after midnight.

Multiple calls were made to 911 reporting a loud "bang" and a victim with visible injuries walking in the area. However, upon arrival, officers were informed that it was not a gunshot and the victim had already been taken to a local hospital.

Further investigation revealed that a vehicle had pulled up near a group of people and someone inside had thrown a lit firework or similar item into the crowd before driving away. The explosion caused severe injuries to a male on the sidewalk who had to be transported to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.

Through witness interviews and canvassing of the area, security photos of the suspect vehicle were obtained. The SPD Major Crimes Unit (MCU) is now asking for anyone with information about the incident or who recognizes the pictured vehicle to contact Crime Check at 509-456-2233.

The reference number for this case is 2025-20229802. Two photos of the suspect vehicle have also been released by authorities for identification purposes.

The Spokane Police are urging community members to come forward with any information that may assist in locating and bringing those responsible for this incident to justice.
