Springfield: Motorcyclist dies in motor vehicle crash

Springfield, Mo. ~ On Friday evening, a tragic motorcycle crash occurred in Springfield, Missouri. At approximately 9:11 p.m., officers from the Springfield Police Department were called to the scene in the 2500 block of W. Chesterfield. According to reports, 38-year-old Cris Gerdes of Springfield was riding his 2008 Harley-Davidson when he lost control on a curve. The motorcycle then veered across the center median, left the roadway, and collided with a tree. Sadly, Gerdes did not survive the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been notified of his passing.
