Texas: Governor Abbott Announces Governor's Small Business Summit In Carthage

~ Governor Greg Abbott has announced that the next 2025 Governor's Small Business Summit will be held in Carthage on Thursday, September 25. This summit, which is held throughout the year and in various regions across the state, aims to support small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs by connecting them with valuable resources and information to help them start, strengthen, and grow their businesses.
In a statement, Governor Abbott emphasized the importance of small businesses in Texas' thriving economy. With over 3.5 million small businesses in the state employing nearly half of all working Texans, Texas continues to lead in job creation and business expansion. The Governor invited all small business owners and entrepreneurs to attend this summit or one in their region to ensure that these vital businesses continue to thrive.
The Governor's Small Business Summit - Carthage will bring together local, state, and federal resource partners to provide insights on critical business topics. Attendees will also have the opportunity to network with other business owners and meet experts who will share timely advice on a variety of small business topics.

The summit will take place at Panola College located at 1109 W. Panola St., Carthage, TX 75633 on Thursday, September 25 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The panel sessions will cover topics such as winning workforce strategies for recruiting and developing talent, knowing when to scale or sell a business, social media marketing and AI for small businesses, as well as a fireside chat with successful entrepreneurs. Additionally, Joe Esparza from the Texas Workforce Commission will be speaking at the event.
Registration for the summit is $20 per person and includes access to all sessions, resource providers, lunch, and complimentary headshots. Interested individuals can find more information about the event and register at gov.texas.gov/events.
Registration is also open for two other remaining locations for the 2025 Governor's Small Business Summit: Denton on October 23 (women-focused event) and Belton on November 13 (veteran-focused event).
For those unable to attend in person, the Governor's Texas Economic Development & Tourism Office and Office of Small Business Assistance also host Governor's Small Business Webinars to share information about resources for small businesses and entrepreneurs in Texas through an online format. Recordings of past webinars can be found at gov.texas.gov/business/page/small-business-webinars.
