8 Can't Miss Events During Fleet Week Houston

April 6, 2026 ~ Houston, TX - The city of Houston is gearing up for an exciting week as it prepares to host the inaugural Fleet Week Houston. This event, taking place from April 15-22, will bring in three major military vessels and over 1,000 active-duty U.S. servicemembers for a series of events and activities.

The highlight of the week will be the opportunity for Houstonians and visitors to tour the USS Kearsarge (LHD-3), USS Minneapolis-St. Paul (LCS-21), USS St. Louis (LCS-19), and USCGC Edgar Culbertson (WPC-1137) along the Houston Ship Channel. These impressive vessels will be docked for public viewing and offer a unique chance to get an up-close look at military technology.

In addition to ship tours, Fleet Week Houston will also feature dozens of events across the community, including schools, museums, parks, and ballgames. This is a chance for Houston to welcome servicemembers with open arms and show appreciation for their service.

The week will kick off on April 15 with a Parade of Ships at Seawolf Park in Galveston. Spectators can watch as the ships make their way into the Houston Ship Channel, marking the start of Fleet Week Houston. This event is open to the public and serves as a warm welcome for all participating servicemembers.

On April 16, Fleet Week on the Plaza will take place at The Plaza at Avenida Houston in Downtown. This free concert will feature live music from local band The Suffers, Navy Band Southeast, and special guests. Attendees can also enjoy food trucks, games, photo ops, and more.

Aviation enthusiasts won't want to miss out on the Fleet Week Houston Aviation Exhibit at Lone Star Flight Museum in Ellington Airport Area on April 18 and 19. This special static display will showcase a variety of Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard aircraft, both modern and historical.

For a taste of Houston culture, head to the Fleet Week Expo at Post Houston in Downtown on April 18 and 19. This interactive event will feature exhibits from all visiting sea services as well as local businesses, food, and entertainment. The Expo will also serve as the starting point for buses taking visitors to ship tours in the Port throughout the week.

On April 18, the East End Block Party will take place at Navigation Esplanade in Houston's historic East End. This event will feature live music, Lucha Libre wrestling, and a traditional carne asada (backyard barbecue) for all to enjoy.

For an action-packed day, head to Sylvan Beach Park in La Porte on April 19 for the Exhibition at Sylvan Beach. This event will showcase the elite capabilities of our military through high-action demonstrations and interactive displays.

Seabrook's Main Street will come alive on April 20 with a Street Festival & Fleet Week Drone Show. This event celebrates our nation's veterans and servicemembers with live music, food vendors, and a spectacular drone show.

Throughout the week, there will also be a series of concerts held in local parks featuring ceremonial service bands presented by ExxonMobil.
