TelAve News/10587370
New York & New Jersey's Biggest Cat Expo is the purr-fect outing for cat lovers.
EDISON, N.J. - TelAve -- The 83rd Annual Garden State Cat Club Expo promises to be the BEST Expo to date.
Located at the NJ Convention and Expedition Center, 97 Sunfield Ave, Edison, on July 20-21, this year's show offers fun for all ages.
This year's breed cat show is themed "Cats in Wonderland" which adds a playful and whimsical element to the 300-400 breed cats who strut their stuff in front of nine internationally renowned judges.
Considered one of the primo cat shows in the Cat Fancy Association, the Garden State Cat Show has attracted entries from around the country and as far away as Japan.
Not only will the competitors try to win "Best Cat" with their felines, they hope to win "Best themed hat" or "Best Cage decoration". Kathy Pritchard of Spotsylvania, Va. will be tough competition with her Cornish Rex cats dressed in one of 200 outrageous designer gowns and accessories.

Ms. Pritchard is returning as one of the main attractions at this year's Cats in Wonderlandtheme – come see the Famous Fashionistacats posing for photos on their cat sized grand piano. (see attached images)
Looking for a new feline family member? Come visit our many cages housing many cats and kittens who will be available for qualified adoptions. Last year's Expo proudly reports that 44 felines went successfully to forever homes. The GSCC hopes to top this number this year.
The Meow Mall offers great shopping from the many vendors selling unique cat themed items, as well as jewelry, food goods and many services for home and office. If shopping doesn't interest someone, there's plenty of booths that offer educational opportunities.
Steve Ross, Somerset, is an expert on CPR for pets and people. Renowned judge, Iris Zinck will have actual breed cats to teach the audience fun facts about Siamese, Maine Coons, Persians and many, many more.

If speed is of interest, there's the excitement of "Cat Agility" – the audience can watch as cats run through a timed obstacle course – some cross the finish line in 7 seconds – others might take 3 minutes – it's truly a fun activity to watch for everyone. (image attached)
Once again, world famous caricaturist Steve Nyman, Denville, will be at the show drawing keepsakes from photos, cell phones or people sitting in front of him. For a nominal donation to rescue cats, he will create a large portrait for years to enjoy. (Image attached)
Show hours are from 9am-4pm on Saturday July 20, and Sunday July 21. Free Parking, Handicap accessible and Air Conditioned. Admission is $8 for Children under 12, $15 for adults, $12 for Seniors and $35 Family (5 people, max. 2 Adults). Tickets sold at the door only.
