MONTGOMERY, Ala. - TelAve -- Aaron Frye, the championship quarterback from Clay-Chalkville High School, was recognized as the Class 6A Back of the Year during the Alabama Sports Writers Association (ASWA) 2025 Mr. Football & Players of the Year Banquet, held Tuesday at 11:45 a.m. in Montgomery.

The annual event, presented by ALFA Insurance and the Alabama High School Athletic Directors & Coaches Association, celebrates the top high school football players across the state. The banquet featured keynote remarks from Bill Clark, former head football coach at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Frye's 6A Back of the Year honor follows a historic senior season in which he led Clay-Chalkville to a Class 6A state championship and a perfect record. Known for his production, leadership, and poise in high-pressure moments, Frye emerged as one of Alabama's most complete dual-threat quarterbacks throughout the season.

The statewide recognition places Frye among the top players at his position and formally closes an accomplished high school career defined by consistency and championship-level performance.

Frye is already enrolled at Alabama State University, where he has begun his collegiate academic and athletic career. He enters the next chapter following a senior season that earned multiple postseason honors and statewide recognition.
