SUGARCREEK, Ohio - TelAve -- Sugarcreek, Ohio — The Age of Steam Roundhouse Museum is proud to announce the opening of its 2026 season on April 2, welcoming guests back for another unforgettable year. This season is especially significant as the museum celebrates the grand christening of Locomotive No. 19 on April 9-11.

Regular roundhouse tours begin April 2 and will be offered Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 10:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., and 2:00 p.m. throughout the season.

Grand Christening Celebration: April 9–11, 2026

The Grand Christening of Locomotive No. 19 will take place over three days, April 9 through April 11.

Thursday, April 9

Locomotive No. 19 will travel to the heart of the Village of Sugarcreek for a special community celebration.

• 5:00 p.m. - Arrival and official christening ceremony.
• The ceremony will feature local dignitaries from the Village of Sugarcreek, Genesee & Wyoming, and representatives from the Age of Steam Roundhouse Museum.
• Location: 111 Factory St. SE, Sugarcreek, OH 44681
• The public is invited to view Locomotive No. 19 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The celebration continues at the Age of Steam Roundhouse Museum with a full day of activities:

• Roundhouse Tours (ticketed):
  10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., 1:00 p.m., and 2:00 p.m.
  Tickets are $20 for adults, $17 for seniors & Veterans, $12 for kids 3-16, and free for kids two and under.
• Rides Behind Locomotive No. 19 (ticketed):
  10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m.
  The cost to ride behind No. 19 are $6.

The evening will conclude with a screening of Emperor of the North (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0070030/) inside the roundhouse.

• 8:30 p.m. - Film screening
• This event is part of America 250–Ohio: "Ohio Goes to the Movies." (https://ohiogoestothemovies.org/)
• Tickets for the film screening are sold out.
