MIRAMAR BEACH, Fla. - TelAve -- Sci-fi author and screenwriter Mike Meier has unveiled a three-minute AI-generated proof-of-concept trailer for his dystopian thriller JoinWith.Me, using artificial intelligence to dramatize a story that questions the growing power of AI over human identity, choice, and connection.
Set in the near future, JoinWith.Me blends speculative technology with psychological suspense to explore what happens when digital systems move beyond assisting humans—and begin reshaping them. The story follows Sam Vanderpool, a man living in 2032 in a world dominated by screens, algorithms, and frictionless convenience. His work feels pointless. His relationships are mediated. His isolation is complete.
Then he clicks on an ad.
The platform JoinWith.Me promises counseling, companionship, and guidance toward a better life. Its interface is warm. Its voice is intelligent. Its intentions seem benevolent.
