Career Communications Group (CCG), a national leader in STEM equity and innovation, announces a significant expansion of its AI Workforce Development Committee

BALTIMORE - TelAve -- These strategic alignments mark a turning point in public–private collaboration for workforce equity. Each organization brings world-class expertise to a shared mission: preparing underrepresented communities—especially Black, Hispanic, Indigenous, and rural populations—for opportunities in artificial intelligence, advanced infrastructure, and emerging technologies.

"AI is not just a technological shift—it's a civil rights moment," said Tyrone D. Taborn, Chairman and CEO of CCG and founder of STEM City USA. "With these companies stepping forward, we're building a coalition that understands both the stakes and the solutions."

"This committee is not about talking change—it's about building it," said Gary Simms, Chairman of the AI Workforce Development Committee. "Together, we're engineering equity into the future of work—with every initiative grounded in workforce access, cultural inclusion, and economic mobility."

A Transformational Appointment in AI and Energy

As part of this expansion, CCG has named David N. Jones, CEO of Lumena Energy and founder of the DAIODE platform, as Chair of the newly established AI & Energy Workforce Development Subcommittee. Lumena Energy's inclusion as a formal partner adds depth to the committee's work at the intersection of digital infrastructure, energy resilience, and workforce innovation.

Jones, a recognized leader in AI-driven energy solutions, will lead efforts focused on:
  • AI literacy and metaverse-enabled workforce training
  • Distributed energy systems and digital equity infrastructure
  • Community-based AI hubs and decentralized data access
  • Career pathways in AI, quantum, and energy technologies

"CCG created the first national moment for DAIODE, and it changed everything," said David N. Jones. "Now, as part of this broader committee, Lumena Energy is proud to drive a future in which AI infrastructure and equity move forward together."

Committee-Wide Strategic Goals Include:
  • Creating AI Career Pathways: Develop inclusive, scalable training and mentoring programs.
  • Workforce Readiness & Certification: Connect learners with industry-aligned credentials.
  • Corporate–Academic Partnerships: Strengthen connections with HBCUs, tribal colleges, and workforce boards.
  • National Advocacy: Influence AI and energy workforce policy for underserved regions.

According to the World Economic Forum, 97 million new roles will emerge by 2025, with AI at the core. Yet, without intentional intervention, entire communities risk being excluded from this future.
