ALAMEDA, Calif. - TelAve -- Alten Construction (https://www.altenconstruction.com/), a full-service San Francisco Bay Area commercial construction company, recently announced it was awarded the contract for Encinal Junior and Senior High School (https://encinal.alamedaunified.org/), part of the Alameda Unified School District.

The $15 million design-build project will include construction of a new 11,000-square-foot gymnasium, multi-sport striping, limited bleachers, weight room and lobby.

Currently, the project is in the design development phase, with construction expected to start in June 2026. It is expected to take 18 months to complete.

Located at 210 Central Ave. in Alameda, Encinal is a progressive public junior and senior high school. Built in the 1950s on approximately 17 acres of land, the facility recently completed a renovation in the spring of 2021.

Alten Construction has completed more than 400 K-12 and higher educational projects throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, including Aspire Berkley Maynard Academy, Marin Catholic High School, Castro Valley High School, Elmer Cove Language Academy, Independence High School and Bahia Vista Elementary School, among others.
