A purveyor of original pasta and sauces, as well as other fine Italian goods, and an independent boutique press join forces

BROOKLYN, N.Y. - TelAve -- As part of its Agrodolce Series, Contra Mundum Press is excited to announce that it is uniting with local Brooklyn pasta and sauce brand, Totuccio Alimentari, a purveyor of original pasta and sauces, as well as other fine Italian goods it curates.

Founded by Salvatore Mulé and Paul Lau, owners of The Winey Neighbor of Prospect Heights, Brooklyn, Totuccio Alimentari is a new pasta and sauce brand set to make a name for itself in the Italian culinary world.

Founded by writer Rainer J. Hanshe in 2012, Contra Mundum Press has published translations from over 14 different languages to critical acclaim and staged events in New York, Paris, Budapest, Berlin, and elsewhere.

After its first decade, Contra Mundum began its Agrodolce Series, a line of unorthodox books on cuisine that to date includes Dejan Lukic's The Oyster and the first ever translation into English of Ugo Tognazzi's The Injester. When discussing their mutual passion for food and wine, Mulé and Hanshe decided to embark upon an alliance born of their common Brooklyn and Italian roots.

Totuccio's handcrafted, small-batch, bronze-cut pasta is made with the finest North Dakota durum wheat semolina and slow dried for 24–56 hours, ensuring a rich, rustic texture that cradles and absorbs sauces. From orecchiette to mezzi rigatoni and classics like penne, casarecce, and more, Totuccio has a fine range of beautiful pastas.

Currently, Totuccio includes two sauces of its own, Sugo Pronto Arrabbiata, which is made of Italian tomatoes, garlic, and Calabrian chiles making for a perfect balance of heat and freshness, and Sugo Pronto Marinara, which is made of Italian tomatoes, garlic, and fresh basil making for a sweet and perfectly balanced sauce.

Totuccio also has yellow tomato and classic red tomato passata by Familia Crispino, San Marzano tomatoes, canned wild fish (Sockeye Salmon, Sardines, Mussels in Escabeche), vinegars, olive oil, and jams and sweets.

Join us as, coupled with Contra Mundum, Totuccio continues its journey, with hopes of moving from the local to the global. First we hit your doorstep, then we hit the world.
