Arizona Safari Company Turns Vacation Dollars Into Life-Changing Medical Missions in Africa

TelAve News/10868653
PHOENIX - TelAve -- A luxury safari can be more than a bucket-list adventure. For guests booking through Tapestry of Africa Tours and Safaris, it's also a way to help bring critical dental care to people in some of Africa's most underserved communities.

Founded by Arizona dentist Dr. Matt Jensen, Tapestry of Africa donates a portion of every safari booking to the Dental Outreach Relief Foundation, a nonprofit that delivers free dental care to remote East African villages where access to care is nearly nonexistent.

"Most people go on safari for the scenery and wildlife," Jensen said. "We invite them to experience all that—and help change lives in the process. Every guest helps us treat people who've lived with pain for years."

Impact by the Numbers
The Dental Outreach Relief Foundation organizes mobile dental teams—made up of volunteer dentists, hygienists and students—to provide extractions, cleanings and oral hygiene education to patients who often walk for hours to reach care.

Where Adventure Fuels Relief

Tapestry of Africa offers ethical, high-end safari tours designed to help sustain the foundation's mission. Guests enjoy once-in-a-lifetime travel experiences knowing their trip directly supports ongoing medical relief efforts.

"Guests don't just come home with safari photos," Jensen said. "They come home knowing they helped someone smile again."
