MARIN COUNTY, Calif. - TelAve -- MARIN COUNTY, Calif. — Author Denise Mobolaji-Ajayi Williams, writing as Bolaji Ajayi, will present a special program titled "Akiti Live: Yoruba Storytelling & Book Signing" at Gardens of Hope for Africa: A Benefit for Books For Africa, hosted by Heidi Kühn and Pax Agricultura on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at 12:30 PM PST. The event will be held at a private estate in Marin, California, with an intimate in-person gathering and a free public livestream.

The program will feature an interactive read-aloud from the bestselling, Yoruba-rooted Akiti the Hunter children's series, exploring African folklore, cultural heritage, courage, imagination, and heroism. The presentation will conclude with audience engagement and an author book signing featuring the complete Akiti the Hunter trilogy.

The Initiative

Donors have now stepped forward to fund an approximately 100,000-book container for each of Kenya, Nigeria, and Ghana — roughly 300,000 books in total. The November 10 event will help Books For Africa go beyond these initial book commitments to build out the broader Global Book Ecosystems around them. Organizers are also seeking partners interested in providing matching gifts to help amplify the impact of individual donations.
