TULSA, Okla. - TelAve -- Award-winning author Sara Causey has received another unusual piece of mail: a book about President John F. Kennedy containing an unexplained typewritten poem about wolves hunting a moose.

The poem is transcribed below exactly as it appears in the original, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation:

"These two wolves are going hunting two gether
theferst wolf sees a moos then, the other wolf sees the moos to
an old moos the two, wolves atack duse the moos kick or run no
the tw o wolves atack the ferst wolf, grabs the moos by the nows,
soon the wolves bring the moos to the groud then the wolves bring,
the moos to the rest of the pack."

Two names are typed beneath the poem, but Causey is redacting them from any information or photographs released publicly.

"I have absolutely no idea what this means," Causey said. "I don't know why it was inside this particular book or why someone decided to send the whole thing to me."

The poem's unconventional construction presents another mystery. Causey does not know whether it was intentional, accidental, or something else entirely—and she has no intention of inventing an explanation.

"Sometimes 'I don't know' is the most accurate answer available," she said.

This is not Causey's first encounter with mysterious mail. Earlier in 2026, she received a vintage German postcard from an unknown sender.

Causey is the author of the award-winning biography Decoding the Unicorn: A New Look at Dag Hammarskjöld and Simply Dag: The Private Man in a Public—and Dangerous—Office. Causey's work is dedicated to bringing Dag Hammarskjöld's life and legacy back into the spotlight and renewing public interest in the man behind the history.

For now, the latest artifact remains exactly what it was when it arrived: an unexplained poem inside an unexpected JFK book.
