TORONTO - TelAve -- Toronto-based scrap car removal and auto recycling company Auto Heaven has released new internal data revealing which vehicles Toronto and Area drivers are scrapping most often.

Based on 2025 pickup logs spanning Toronto and surrounding cities, Auto Heaven identified the Top 20 vehicle models most frequently sent to the yard at end-of-life. Topping the list are the Dodge/Chrysler Caravan, Honda Civic, Mazda 3, Ford Focus, and Ford Escape.

"This isn't a list of bad cars," said Dan Sullivan, president of Auto Heaven. "Most of these vehicles have simply hit the end of their economic life after a decade or more on Ontario roads. Rust, high mileage, and major repair bills eventually collide — that's when people call us."

The data covers hundreds of end-of-life vehicle pickups in 2025 from Toronto and surrounding cities including Brampton, Mississauga, Barrie, Oshawa, Hamilton, Whitby, Innisfil, Markham, Milton, and others.

The findings reflect broader patterns Auto Heaven sees daily: compact sedans and minivans make up the largest share of scrapped vehicles, followed by a growing number of crossovers and SUVs from the early 2000s now reaching end-of-life. The most common reasons owners choose to scrap rather than repair include major mechanical failures, rust-related safety concerns, and repair bills that exceed the vehicle's current market value.

"We see the other side of the ownership story," added Sullivan. "By the time our flatbeds arrive, these vehicles have usually given families or businesses years of service. Our job is to help them exit cleanly, recycle responsibly, and put some money back in the owner's pocket."
