AVTECH Unveils New Digital Temperature & Air Flow Sensor For Use With Room Alert Monitors
TelAve News/10750707
The new sensor monitors air flow from vents, ducts and more in real time to prevent costly outages and downtime
WARREN, R.I. - TelAve -- AVTECH Software (AVTECH) has unveiled its newest sensor for Room Alert monitors, the Digital Temperature & Air Flow Sensor. This new sensor monitors air flow from ducts, vents, and more in real time to help alert users to changing conditions that could indicate problems or potential downtime before they occur.
Now in its 34th year in business, AVTECH manufactures Room Alert, the world's most popular environment monitor designed to protect people, property, and productivity to provide peace of mind. Room Alert is made in the USA and proactively monitors environment conditions such as temperature, humidity, flood, power, smoke, and more. Room Alert is currently used in 187 of 196 countries by organizations ranging from thousands of small businesses to Boeing, Sprint, Microsoft, over 80% of the Fortune 1000, the United Nations, and many government agencies.
The new Digital Temperature & Air Flow Sensor was designed by AVTECH to monitor air flow (or lack thereof) from HVAC vents, server exhaust fans, cooling fans and more. When air flows through the sensor, air speed readings are communicated via the Room Alert monitor the sensor is connected to. This allows users to see the air flow status in real time and set up alerts and reports to notify them of any changes that could indicate a potential problem. Users simply need to provide the dimensions of the vent being monitored, and Room Alert will automatically calculate the air flow readings for the user.

"Our new Digital Temperature & Air Flow Sensor was developed based on helpful feedback from our users," said AVTECH President & COO Richard Grundy. "Customers who had been using our previous Air Flow Sensor noted that while it was helpful for determining if air flow was present, they wanted a deeper look into their cooling and ventilation systems. By developing a new digital sensor, rather than the previous switch-based Air Flow Sensor, exact readings are presented to our users in real time. This allows them to monitor and graph readings to see trends and identify potential issues before they occur. For instance, noticing reduced air flow from an HVAC vent may lead to preventive maintenance on that unit, rather than the HVAC stopping working without warning, leading to costly downtime and damages."
In addition to Room Alert environment monitors, AVTECH offers a wide range of digital, switch and analog sensors designed to help users monitor as many environment conditions as possible to help protect their facilities. Room Alert is a crucial part of any organization's business continuity plan, as it allows users to fully monitor environment conditions in their data centers, server rooms, and facilities that can cause unexpected downtime. All Room Alert monitors come standard with free firmware updates as well as lifetime support.
