Kelly Schaefer, author of Fractured Not Broken, a Memoir, Brings Hope in her Devotional.
EVANSVILLE, Ind. - TelAve -- Kelly's memoir, Fractured not Broken, was published in 2015 and became an award-winning, best-selling novel and was optioned for a movie. Her memoir includes basketball legends like Bobby Knight, John Wooden, Gene Keady, and Tom Izzo.
The book details the immense grief and pain following an accident that took the life of Kelly's friend, left her brother in a coma and rendered Kelly a quadriplegic. Many of her reviews highlight the unexpected, heart-wrenching, and beautifully ordained romance with her husband, Shawn, demonstrating that true love goes beyond physical limitations.
Readers had encouraged Kelly to write another book to continue to inspire others, so during the 2026 Lenten season she committed to writing one devotional a day. She ended up completing 47 devotionals borne from her journey through tragedy, resilience, faith and unexpected joy, all within 225 pages. Through personal stories, relatable moments, and reflections rooted in Scripture, these devotionals explore what it means to find hope in the middle of uncertainty.

The memoir and devotional are available through Amazon and Barnes and Noble and both come in paperback or digital forms.
Kelly lives in Jasper, Indiana with her husband and two children.
