LAKELAND, Fla. - TelAve -- Better Together, a nonprofit on a mission to build strong families and communities, is partnering with Zion Hill Primitive Baptist Church to host a community job fair on Tuesday, May 12, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Registration is now open for job seekers and employers to participate in the May event. With a spirit of hope and celebration, the church-based job fairs empower job seekers by connecting them with local employers who are ready to hire, while offering supportive services that foster meaningful connections and increase opportunities for lasting employment. Free one-on-one job coaching sessions are available to participants to review resumes, and additional services will be available onsite.

The May 12 job fair will take place at Zion Hill Primitive Baptist Church, located at 1348 N. Sidney Ave. in Lakeland. Job seekers and employers can register at https://BetterTogetherUS.org/ZionHill or by texting "JOBS" to 844-987-3949.

With job openings available across various industries, participating employers include Bernie Little Distributors, City of Lakeland, Cove Communities, Kane's Furniture, Onin Staffing, Publix, Ring Power, Statewide Workforce Development, The Walt Disney Company and Waters Express Car Wash.

Local resource partners will also join Better Together in offering various onsite services, including the Florida Department of Corrections, United Way of Central Florida and more.

The May job fair is one of several spring hiring events taking place in Lakeland. A Nationwide Days of Second Chances hiring event, also hosted by Better Together and local partners, will be held in April on Thursday, April 23 at United Methodist Lakeland.

The community job fairs are part of Better Together's "Better Jobs" program, which has helped more than 50,000 applicants connect with employment opportunities across 25 states.

Better Together is a nonprofit organization that helps parents going through a hard time keep their kids out of foster care, find work and address the root causes of their struggle so that they can reunite as a family with the tools and support system to thrive. A privately funded and professionally supported organization, Better Together is made up of volunteers who believe helping people help themselves is the best way to restore dignity and bring families together. Through the Better Families program, families find the resources and community they need to thrive. To date, the program has kept 98% of children served through hosting and mentoring out of foster care.
