Beyond The Layoff: Black Women Rising Podcast Series Reflects On Life After A Layoff

TelAve News/10878902
ORLANDO, Fla. - TelAve -- As more than 300,000 Black women face layoffs in 2025, founder Deborah Mitchell's story of career reinvention and resilience offers inspiration for professionals navigating unexpected transitions.

Emmy-nominated television producer and video marketing strategist Deborah Mitchell will appear on the Speakin' of Speaking podcast with Kelly Charles-Collins, Esq. in the new special series Beyond The Layoff: Black Women Rising where she will discuss her job loss and professional rebuild.

In 2010, Mitchell was released from her producer position on former CBS News' "The Early Show" after a decade-long tenure. "It was devastating," she recalls. "You invest years of passion and purpose, and then everything shifts overnight." That moment pushed her to rebuild from the ground up—transforming loss into a launchpad for growth.

"Video storytelling gave me back my voice," says Mitchell. "Now I help other women reclaim theirs—especially those navigating layoffs or reinvention."
