The company behind the Companion app is headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama. The founder and developer of the app is on a mission to bring people together, and enhance social interaction in Birmingham--and ultimately throughout the country. Companion's aim is to help transplants (people who relocate to new cities for work, assimilate); networkers to find events and things to do to improve business and connect with other professionals; and to help people looking for a fun night out find the best things to do based on their taste.

Companion is the first of its kind and people are anticipating the launch. Companion will help people connect with friends and family and new locals. It's expected to launch this summer in July and it's users will likely increase 150 percent by the end of the year.

The app was created to help combat the lonliness epidemic in America. If Companion can influence more in-person, face-to-face interactions, it considers itself a winner.
