BitRouter Announces Availability of Version 1.2 Software for ZapperBox M1 and ZapperBox A1 Antenna
TelAve News/10786164
Company to showcase latest product advancements at NAB industry event
LAS VEGAS - TelAve -- BitRouter, a leading provider of software for ATSC 3.0 receivers, today announced at the 2023 NAB Show in Las Vegas, that the company is now shipping version 1.2 software for the ZapperBox M1 NEXTGEN TV set-top box. ZapperBox is still the only commercially available ATSC 3.0 and ATSC 1.0 set-top box that is also certified for Dolby® AC-4 audio.
Gopal Miglani, BitRouter's founder and president commented, "Version 1.2 adds support for trick modes (Pause/Play/Fast-forward/Rewind) for both ATSC 1.0 and ATSC 3.0 channels. This is BitRouter's final release before we ship full-DVR support with version 1.3 next month."
The company also announced that it will soon start shipments of the ZapperBox A1 antenna that has been specifically designed by Televes for NEXTGEN TV. This is the Televes EVOCA antenna model, which will be available on the ZapperBox website and through Amazon. Miglani added, "We have tested many antennas over the last couple of years, and have selected the Televes antenna because it is aesthetically pleasing and fits well on a living room console next to a high-end TV. It gives consumers the most mounting options from desk placement to wall mount and pole mount for indoor, outdoor or attic installation."

This Televes EVOCA antenna can also be used with or without its reflector. It has a built-in amplifier, which is important since as the amplifier moves further away from the antenna, it starts amplifying the noise caught by the cable. The ZapperBox A1 antenna has a built-in LTE filter to counter mobile signal interference. Additionally, the internal amplifier utilizes gallium-arsenide chips (instead of silicon dioxide) to minimize noise amplification.
"Televes Corporation, a world leader in television transmission and reception, is excited to partner with BitRouter to supply our latest antenna design, EVOCA," said Javier Ruano, general manager of Televes USA. "Pairing the ZapperBox with an EVOCA antenna enables ATSC 3.0 reception on a very large universe of televisions sold without NEXTGEN-capable tuners. This is the first ATSC 3.0 set-top box and antenna sold as a package and will greatly benefit consumers looking for a simple and easy solution to enable a new and exciting viewing experience that only NEXTGEN TV can provide. Televes' EVOCA antenna is capable of receiving any current or future OTA broadcast signal offering users 'peace of mind', with its ability to receive MIMO data transmissions with an integrated secondary antenna and a third 5G antenna for fixed wireless of cell phone signal boosters, all built in."
