Together, these regulations mandate traceable certification, verifiable accreditation, and a documented chain-of-custody for every aircraft. ANAB—or an internationally equivalent accreditation—is required; FAA-issued airworthiness certificates alone do not supersede AS9100 or AI9100 certifications, which cover individual components and assemblies. FAA airworthiness applies only to final evaluation of the airplane, not to the integrity of its underlying production.
