Lydia Backhouse Shares Her Journey - "If Opportunity Doesn't Knock, Build a Door!"
HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - April 15, 2016 - TelAve -- At the tender age of ten, Lydia Backhouse fell in love. It happened during her first live performance of Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing." Lydia fell in love . . . with acting!
"Performing on stage was the most thrilling feeling in the world," Lydia said. "I was really good at it, and I knew I would be acting for the rest of my life!" Although she has also been singing and playing piano since she was very young and has written and performed her own songs since the age of sixteen, she acknowledged that her overriding passion would always be acting.
Lydia is blessed with extraordinary talent and great beauty, both internally and externally - and a level of professionalism and wisdom far beyond her years. "I began seriously studying acting as a child," Lydia shared. "Actually," she added, flashing a mischievous smile that seemed to light up the room, "I've been studying and performing for half of my life now."
As a child, Lydia proclaimed that when she became eighteen, she would move to Hollywood and pursue a successful film career. Most parents would interpret those words as simply the fantasy of a child. Lydia's parents, however, knew that she was serious. They also knew that she was a sincere, intelligent, and passionate child. When she reached the age of eighteen, Lydia did, indeed, move from Yorkshire, England to Beverly Hills, California - and with the blessings of her parents.
