BOCA RATON, Fla. - TelAve -- (January 9, 2025) Hailed by The New York Times for her "powerhouse voice," Broadway and cabaret star Avery Sommers is bringing her fabulous one-woman show For Sentimental Reasons to the John Knox Village Cultural Arts Center in Pompano Beach on Friday, January 16, at 7 pm. The Cultural Arts Center is located at 651 SW 6th Street (Dixie Gate Entrance) 33060.
South Florida's Cabaret Queen promises a terrific, tune-filled trip through the 1960s, with musical salutes to Ray Charles and Neil Sedaka, from Top 10 hits like "Downtown" and "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" to Broadway showstoppers ("Ain't Misbehavin'" and "Cabaret").
Following her recent sold-out, star-packed concert at NYC's legendary 54 Below, Sommers "makes every song uniquely her own and lifts the hearts and souls" of every audience. At John Knox Village she will be backed by a jazzy, snazzy musical trio with Phil Hinton on piano, Frank Derrick on drums, and Ranses Colon on upright bass.
