TelAve News/10894032
LOS ANGELES - TelAve -- As the entertainment industry continues to evolve toward more structured access points and expanded definitions of creative careers, new professional development models are emerging to bridge the gap between traditional pipelines and the modern creator economy. The 2026 Entertainment Career Summit, presented by the Century City Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., reflects this shift by bringing together working entertainment professionals and emerging talent for a full-day, access-driven experience focused on how careers are actually built across film, television, music, and digital media.

Founded and chaired by Shonelle Blake, the Summit will take place on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Emerson College Los Angeles in Hollywood.

Attendees will participate in panels and workshops focused on content creation strategy, television production, podcasting, and the business and legal frameworks that govern how music is licensed, negotiated, and placed within film, television, and digital projects. The programming also introduces attendees to lesser-known and emerging entertainment career pathways, broadening visibility beyond traditional on-camera and creative roles into the operational and behind the scenes business infrastructure of the industry.

The Summit is part of a broader emerging entertainment career ecosystem that includes "The Summit Sessions" podcast, where industry professionals including Jamesa Boyd Smith, Chief Operations Executive for "Gracie's Corner," and Sedrick Spencer, Vice President of Government Relations at Paramount Global, have shared insights on their unique careers and building sustainable careers in entertainment.

"Our goal is to create real pathways into the entertainment industry for individuals who have historically been excluded from traditional pipelines and access points," said Shonelle Blake, Founder and Chair of the Entertainment Career Summit. "The Summit brings together accomplished working professionals who can demystify the industry, break down the business side of entertainment, provide support and practical insight into how careers are actually built."
