LEEDS, U.K. - TelAve -- Upgrading Church Audio for Clearer Sound

The church's existing sound system consisted of an ageing pair of column speakers positioned at the front of the building. While adequate for the front pews, intelligibility at the rear of the church was poor, making it difficult for many members of the congregation to fully engage with services.

Following a detailed site survey, we designed and installed a tailored audio solution that delivers consistent, crystal-clear sound across the entire worship space.

Optimal Audio Loudspeaker Installation

To provide even audio coverage throughout the main congregation area, we installed five Optimal Audio Cuboid 6TW loudspeakers in white. One speaker was strategically positioned to face the altar, ensuring excellent monitoring and speech reinforcement for clergy and readers.

To further enhance coverage in elevated seating areas, two additional Cuboid 6TW speakers were installed in the church balcony, guaranteeing excellent intelligibility for all worshippers regardless of seating position.

Professional Wireless Microphone Systems

As part of this church AV upgrade, we supplied and installed four new Sennheiser EW-D Wireless System wireless microphone systems, including:

• One over-ear headset microphone
• Two lavalier (lapel) microphones
• One handheld wireless microphone

These provide maximum flexibility for clergy, readers, and guest speakers during services and special events.

Lectern Microphone Installation

For enhanced speech pickup at the lectern and readers' rostrum, we fitted an Audio-Technica AT875R shotgun microphone. This highly directional microphone ensures exceptional vocal clarity while minimising unwanted background noise.
