City of Boston Launches Directory to Connect Residents to Workforce Development Programs

~ Boston, MA - The Office of Workforce Development (OWD) has recently launched a new program directory aimed at connecting residents to a variety of job training, educational, and supportive programs throughout the city. The Workforce Development Program Directory features over 160 programs, including English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), HiSET programs, career exploration and job search services, and industry-specific training courses.
Residents can access the directory online or through a mobile platform and filter their search by program type, location, age, and industry. This allows individuals to easily find the opportunities that best suit their needs. Additionally, the directory includes a mapping feature that supports geographic searching, making it even more convenient for residents to find resources in their area.
According to Anna Sherr, Assistant Deputy Director for Grants Management at the Office of Workforce Development, the city offers a wide range of workforce programs but they are often difficult to find or navigate. The new directory aims to bridge this gap by making high-quality training, education, and support services more visible and accessible to residents.

The Worker Empowerment Cabinet leads the Office of Workforce Development in promoting workforce development initiatives and policies that aim for full participation of all Boston residents in the city's economic vitality and future.
