(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ The City of Columbia is offering residents the opportunity to get involved in local government by accepting applications for various boards and commissions. These positions allow individuals to represent the voices of their community and have a say in important decisions.

Interested applicants can find the necessary forms on the City's website, CoMo.gov. The deadline for submission is 5 p.m. on Monday, July 6, and all applications must be received by the City Clerk's Office.

There are currently openings for several boards and commissions, including the Bicycle/Pedestrian Commission, Building Construction Codes Commission, Citizens Police Review Board, Climate and Environment Commission, Commission on Cultural Affairs, Commission on Cultural Affairs Standing Committee on Public Art, Dangerous or Aggressive Animal Advisors, Disabilities Commission, Historic Preservation Commission, Public Transit Advisory Commission, and Railroad Advisory Board.
