City of Columbia Assistant City Manager Carol Rhodes to retire Feb. 13

(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ After 31 years of dedicated service, Carol Rhodes, the assistant city manager for the City of Columbia, has announced her retirement. Her last day with the city will be on February 13th.
City Manager De'Carlon Seewood expressed his gratitude for Rhodes' contributions to the organization, stating that she has been a pillar at the City of Columbia. He also highlighted her extensive institutional knowledge and leadership skills, which have been instrumental in many successful initiatives such as overseeing strategic planning and implementation, establishing the City's Contact Center, and leading the first-ever Community Summit.

Rhodes joined the City of Columbia in 1994 as secretary to the city manager under Ray Beck. After serving in that role for some time, she was promoted to assistant to the city manager and held that position for sixteen years before becoming assistant city manager in 2012.
Reflecting on her time with the City, Rhodes shared that she has enjoyed being a part of shaping its strategy through various strategic planning processes. She also expressed pride in being able to contribute to the growth and evolution of the organization as it serves a continuously expanding community. Additionally, Rhodes mentioned that one of her greatest accomplishments is developing mentorship relationships with staff members that have resulted in their career development and growth.
The City of Columbia will greatly miss Rhodes' expertise and leadership as she embarks on a well-deserved retirement.
