City of Long Beach Facilities and Services Schedule for Presidents' Day Holiday

Long Beach, CA ~ Long Beach, CA - As the nation prepares to celebrate Presidents' Day on Monday, Feb. 16, 2026, the City of Long Beach has announced its schedule for city facilities and services.
In observance of the holiday, several city services will be closed on Monday while others will remain open with adjusted schedules.
Residents can still enjoy all City parks and trails (excluding El Dorado Nature Center), El Dorado East Regional Park, Fire Stations and Lifeguard Stations, Long Beach Airport, and Long Beach Animal Care Services (562.570.7387) which will be open 24/7 for emergency services.
The Main Police Station Front Desk, Marina offices (Alamitos Bay Marina, Shoreline Marina), Gas Services Dispatch (562.570.2140), and Water/Sewer Dispatch (562.570.2390) will also remain open for emergency calls.
However, several city services will be closed on Monday including the Billie Jean King Main Library and all branch libraries. The BizCare Hotline (562.570.4BIZ), Building and Safety services including the Permit Center, inspections and plan reviews, City Hall offices and public services are among those that will be closed.
Additionally, City-operated pools, City Prosecutor's Office, Code Enforcement services, Economic Development & Opportunity's Long Beach Workforce Innovation Network Adult and Youth Career Services Centers will also be closed.

Other closures include El Dorado Nature Center (regularly closed on Mondays), Energy and Environmental Services offices, Fire Headquarters Support Services including Marine Safety Administration, Health Department and Health facilities.
The Homeless Services Outreach Line (562.570.4672), Housing Authority offices, Long Beach Airport Administration Offices are also among those that will be closed on Monday.
Furthermore, Long Beach Animal Care Services and spcaLA (regularly closed on Mondays and Tuesdays), Long Beach Utilities Offices Mobile Access Centers Neighborhood Resource Center, Parks, Recreation and Marine programs and community park facilities will also be closed.
The Clean Team will not conduct oversized items and special collections pick-ups on Monday. Refuse and Recycling Administrative Offices, Special Events and Filming Offices, Street sweeping, Towing and Lien Sales will also be closed.
City Hall offices and public services will be closed on Monday including commercial services typically available at City Hall such as the Permit Center (located on the 2nd floor), Cashiering/Payment Processing, Utility Customer Service, Billing and Collections, and Parking Citations.
However, the public is encouraged to continue taking advantage of the convenient online resources available on the City website for building permit services and bill payment options.

There will be no scheduled street sweeping or enforcement of street sweeping violations on Monday. Street sweeping will resume its regular schedule on Tuesday.
Citywide parking violations including parking meters will be enforced on Monday unless the meter states "Exempt on Holidays." The days and hours of enforcement are displayed inside the meters.
Refuse and recycling will be collected as scheduled on Monday except for oversized items and special collections pick-ups conducted by the Clean Team.
The Towing Operations and Vehicle Storage Facility (3111 E. Willow St., between Temple Avenue and Redondo Avenue) will also be closed on Monday. Normal business hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays, while it remains closed on Sundays and holidays.
For an additional fee, vehicles and property can still be released outside of these hours. More information can be found online.
All Long Beach Public Library locations and services including the main phone line will also remain closed on Saturday, Feb. 14thand Monday, Feb. 16thas per their normal schedule. However, library patrons are encouraged to utilize the Library's vast collection of digital resources including the Library catalog, downloads, and databases which are available 24/7.
