City of St. Louis Invites Community to Two North St. Louis Neighborhood Planning Events

TelAve News/10887494
~ The City of St. Louis is inviting residents, stakeholders, and community partners to take part in two significant events that will shape the future of North St. Louis neighborhoods. These events are part of the ongoing PlanSTL initiative, which aims to create inclusive and community-driven neighborhood plans and progress for tornado recovery.

The first event, scheduled for Wednesday, February 4th, is an open house for the Baden and North Pointe neighborhoods. The draft neighborhood plan will be available for review at the North Park United Methodist Church from 4-7 p.m. This marks the beginning of the public review phase before it is presented to the Planning Commission in the spring.

The open house will be an interactive workshop where attendees can provide feedback on various aspects of the draft plan, including housing and vacancy, economic development, arts and culture, sustainability and resilience, public space design, and transportation. The recommendations in this plan have been shaped by extensive community engagement over the past year.

The second event is a launch party for Plan Area 5 on Thursday, February 12th at Third Degree Glass Factory. This initiative will serve Academy, Fountain Park, and Lewis Place neighborhoods. The evening will include live music and entertainment by local artists and performers as well as dinner and children's activities for families.

Residents are encouraged to attend this launch party to share their vision for their neighborhoods with the Neighborhood Planning Committee and planning partners. Their input will play a crucial role in identifying priorities for their communities and guiding future investments by the city.

Registration is not required for this event. For more information about PlanSTL or to follow updates on these events, visit planstl.com or visit the Plan Area 5 webpage.

The City of St. Louis urges all community members to participate in these events and have a say in shaping the future of their neighborhoods. These events are important milestones in the ongoing efforts to create a more inclusive and resilient community.
