Cobalt's New BBG-1300-FR Mini openGear® Frame Hits the Spot When Space is an Issue

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - TelAve -- Cobalt's New BBG-1300-FR Mini openGear® Frame Hits the Spot When Space is an Issue
Champaign, IL – September 7, 2020 – Cobalt®, an industry-leading designer and manufacturer of award-winning edge devices for live video production and master control, and a founding partner in the openGear® initiative, has a new mini frame that fills a need when space is an issue and functionality can't be compromised.
"End-users have been asking or a frame with a footprint small enough to house one or two openGear® cards but robust enough to offer the control and configurability capabilities found in a standard twenty-slot frame," explained Chris Shaw, Cobalt's EVP of Sales & Marketing. "They required a product ideal for flight packs or installations where real estate is at a premium, such as outside broadcast vehicles, and the BBG-1300-FR offers the perfect solution."
The Cobalt® BBG-1300-FR is a 1/3 rack-width 1RU openGear® compatible enclosure frame capable of housing one or two openGear® cards that functions as a basic standalone desktop unit, or up to three units can be stacked together as a 1RU group for rack mounting for maximum density where a full-size 2RU 20-slot openGear® frame is not feasible or required.

Just like a full frame, BBG-1300-FR's built-in network interface allows DashBoard™ control/monitoring of any openGear® capable card. Looping reference on the BBG-1300-FR unit itself provides card reference support without using reference connections that consume card rear module connector count.
The BBG-1300-FR can house the majority of Cobalt's card series with a total available power of 60 W; sufficient for the Company's latest-generation high-power cards, including the 9992-ENC-HEVC-4K encoder, 9992-DEC-HEVC-4K decoder, and the versatile 9904-UDX-4K up, down, cross-converter. The BBG-1300 has its own built-in fan for cooling the card area and power supplies -a dual power supply provides redundancy.
A front control panel makes status monitoring and network setup connectivity simple with an LCD display screen. The front rotary knob makes navigation simple and easy to use. SNMP control available.
As with all Cobalt product the BBG-1300 comes with a five-year warranty
