Streamlines quality control processes with one fully integrated and automated system
KENOSHA, Wis. - TelAve -- Colbert Packaging Corporation, https://colbertpkg.com a leading manufacturer of custom paperboard folding cartons, labels, and inserts, today announced the implementation of new hardware and upgraded software supporting the company's commitment to 100% vision inspection for quality control on behalf of its customers.
Throughout its prepress and printing production processes, Colbert Packaging has advanced its vision inspection technology and capabilities by installing one fully integrated and automated system designed for greater accuracy, consistency, and efficiency. Utilizing EyeC Quality Control Systems, Colbert has upgraded software for its Proofiler systems in prepress ensuring accurate verification of graphic files to ready them for production.
In addition, Colbert's print production capabilities have received a vision inspection upgrade with EyeC Inspection Scanners that provide one centralized hub for capturing full-sheet scans for all its printing presses. "This system not only provides pinpoint accuracy from proof to output, it also allows us to target customer-specific requirements in an art file for quality criteria," states Colbert Printing Manager, Cory Holland, "In addition, it provides a means to track results to further enhance our quality systems."

At each stage of production, Colbert utilizes vision inspection technology from prepress to printing and finishing. Customer-supplied art files are compared to prepress and printing outputs, while each die cut carton undergoing folding and gluing receives additional vision inspection. Elements like missing copy, errors, print defects, backside printing, braille, and insert application are all part of the overall quality inspection process.
"EyeC-America is proud to partner with Colbert Packaging as they continue investing in
high-quality packaging production," said EyeC Sales Representative, Ryan Hansen. "Our mission is to deliver the fastest and most reliable vision inspection solutions available today. By prioritizing ease of use, speed, accuracy, and efficiency, our technology streamlines Colbert's workflows and strengthens the experience they deliver to their customers."
Colbert Packaging Marketing Manager, Wanda Speer, adds, "Although Colbert Packaging has utilized vision inspection technology at various stages of production for many years, this recent investment takes advantage of the latest technology in fully integrated, fast, effective, and proactive quality inspection. Nothing is left to the human eye, except for the reporting accountability the system allows."
