Hemani case before the United States Supreme Court, which deals with a federal law that prohibits firearm possession for individuals who use controlled substances, including marijuana.

Governor Polis has been a long-time advocate for the rescheduling of marijuana and has continuously urged the administration to take action and stop interfering with Coloradans' Constitutional rights. He believes that there is no valid reason for someone to be denied their Second Amendment right simply because they use marijuana, especially when this logic is not applied in the same manner to other substances such as alcohol.
