DENVER - Today, pursuant to her authority as acting Governor under the Colorado Constitution, Article IV, § 13, Lt. Governor Dianne Primavera issued an Executive Order to memorialize the verbal disaster declaration issued by Governor Polis on April 25, 2026, for the Poitrey Canyon Fire in Las Animas County.

Governor Polis's verbal order on April 25, 2026, activated the State Emergency Operations Plan, and the Executive Order enables state and Federal agencies to coordinate for the fire suppression, response, consequence management, mitigation, and recovery efforts related to the Poitrey Canyon Fire in Las Animas County.
