TelAve News/10899148
~ On the evening of March 5, 2026, a tragic traffic crash occurred at the intersection of Highway 24 and 21st Street in Colorado Springs. The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) received a call for service at approximately 5:55 p.m. regarding a collision between a motorcycle and a pickup truck.
According to CSPD, the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Highway 24 at a high rate of speed when the pickup truck made a right turn on red from 21st Street onto eastbound Highway 24. The impact caused both the motorcycle operator and passenger to be ejected from the vehicle.
Upon arrival, officers determined that both occupants of the motorcycle were critically injured and in need of immediate medical attention. They were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Due to the severity of the crash, CSPD's Major Crash Team took over the investigation. While impairment is not suspected at this time, speed is being looked into as a possible contributing factor. As of now, no charges have been filed and the investigation is ongoing.
