Colorado Springs: Public open houses planned for COS Creek Plan feasibility study

~ Colorado Springs, CO - The City of Colorado Springs, Pikes Peak Waterways, and Colorado Springs Utilities have joined forces to launch the COS Creek Plan Feasibility Study. This long-term effort aims to restore the natural functions of Monument and Fountain creeks while also improving flood resilience, recreation opportunities, and environmental health for residents.

As part of this project, community members are invited to attend two upcoming open houses. The first will take place on June 24, 2026 from 5-6:30 p.m. at the UCCS Downtown Campus located at 102 S. Tejon St. The second open house will be held on July 15, 2026 from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Colorado Springs Police Department's Gold Hills Community Room located at 955 W. Moreno Ave.

During these informal drop-in events, attendees will have the opportunity to review project information and speak with the project team. A brief presentation will begin at approximately 5:20 p.m., but community members are welcome to arrive at any time during the event.

The COS Creek Plan Feasibility Study is evaluating solutions to restore ecosystem health, reduce flood risk, improve water quality, and enhance parks, trails, and community access in the area. Community feedback collected during these open houses will play a crucial role in guiding future improvements.

For those unable to attend in person, an online open house is available at coscreekplanopenhouse.com until July 15th. This self-guided option allows individuals to review the same information as the in-person events and provide feedback at their convenience.

The input gathered during this process will help inform next steps for potential future partnerships and funding opportunities that could support project design and construction.
