Colorado Springs: Tejon Street closures scheduled April 20–24
TelAve News/10894019
~ Colorado Springs - Tejon Street will experience a full closure between Colorado Avenue and Kiowa Street from April 20-24 as the final phase of the Tejon Street Revitalization Project gets underway. The closure is necessary for crews to complete milling and asphalt overlay at the intersection of Tejon Street and Pikes Peak Avenue, followed by pavement striping and installation of decorative granite crosswalks.
According to project officials, pedestrian access will remain open throughout the work zone, but motorists should expect delays and follow posted detours. On-street parking within the project area will also be unavailable during this time, but alternative parking options are available at nearby City-owned garages.

The closure is scheduled to take place in two phases. From April 20-21, Tejon Street will be fully closed for milling and asphalt overlay. Then from April 22-24, the closure will continue for pavement striping and installation of granite pavers in the crosswalks. The street is expected to reopen after April 24.
After this phase is completed, Tejon Street will be open from April 27-May 8. However, intermittent closures on Pikes Peak Avenue may occur during this time for crosswalk installation.
The Tejon Street Revitalization Project has been ongoing for several months and has already made significant improvements to downtown Colorado Springs. These include improved pedestrian access, expanded outdoor dining space, enhanced stormwater infrastructure, and new landscaping.
All work is weather-dependent and subject to change. For the latest updates on the project, residents can visit ColoradoSprings.gov/TejonStreet. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes when possible to avoid delays during this final phase of construction.
