Columbia Police respond to bomb threat in 400 block of Conley Road, April 23

(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia Police Department responded to a bomb threat in the 400 block of Conley Road at approximately 1:09 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon. According to initial reports, pipe bombs had been planted inside a business in the area.
Upon arrival, officers quickly took control of the situation and coordinated an orderly evacuation of the building. They also assisted customers and employees as they exited the premises. In addition, a controlled evacuation of vehicles in the parking lot was carried out.
To ensure the safety of those involved, City of Columbia buses were called in to provide temporary shelter for employees during the investigation. A K-9 explosives dog and bomb technician from the Columbia Police Department thoroughly searched the building but found no evidence of any explosives.

Thankfully, no additional threats were reported or observed during this incident. The property was cleared around 3:30 p.m., and officers escorted staff back inside.
The Columbia Police Department would like to extend their gratitude to the Ashland Police Department for their assistance with crowd and traffic control during this time.
Authorities have confirmed that there is currently no threat to the public, but the investigation is still ongoing. Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact the Columbia Police Department at 573.874.7652 or call CrimeStoppers at 573.875.8477 to provide information anonymously.
In case of an arrest being made based on information provided to CrimeStoppers, individuals may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,500. The case number for this incident is 2026-003629.
