Columbia's Make Music Day registration opens May 1

(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia, MO - The City of Columbia Office of Cultural Affairs is gearing up for the annual Make Music Day on June 21st. This free event celebrates music around the world and is coordinated by the Office of Cultural Affairs.
The community is encouraged to participate in this event by signing up as a performer or a venue. The deadline to register is June 16th. A matchmaking system will be used to connect musicians with venues. Interested individuals can create an account and browse through profiles to request a booking.
Unlike traditional music festivals, Make Music Day is open to everyone who wants to take part. Musicians of all ages and skill levels are welcome, making it a diverse and inclusive celebration of music. Venues can range from outdoor spaces, sidewalks, backyards, storefronts, small shops, restaurants, cafes, bars, cultural institutions, community gardens - even personal porches, stoops, driveways or lawns.

Make Music Day originated in France in 1982 as the Fête de la Musique and has since spread to over 1,000 cities in 120 countries. All events will be free and open to the public.
