CARSON CITY, Nev. - TelAve -- A new podcast dedicated to the thriving hobby of metal detecting launched today, offering treasure hunters and history enthusiasts valuable insights into finding buried artifacts, coins, gold nuggets, and relics. "Detector For Metal" podcast will air weekly episodes every Tuesday, focusing on the three key principles of successful detecting: being prepared, purposeful, and patient.
The podcast aims to serve both newcomers and experienced detectorists by providing expert advice on research techniques, equipment selection, and recovery methods. Each episode will explore different aspects of the hobby, from identifying productive hunting locations to mastering detector technology.
"For decades, I've seen how proper preparation and persistence lead to extraordinary finds in the field," said Charles Garrett, host of the podcast and longtime metal detecting enthusiast. "This podcast will help detectorists avoid common mistakes and increase their chances of making those cherished discoveries that connect us to our past."

The podcast will feature interviews with successful treasure hunters who have uncovered valuable coins, Civil War artifacts, and gold nuggets, sharing their techniques and experiences. Special segments will cover topics such as selecting the right detector for specific targets, identifying historically significant areas for hunting, and using proper recovery tools to preserve finds.
"The costs of getting started in metal detecting may be stable, but the potential rewards—both historical and monetary—can be tremendous if you know what you're doing," noted James Wilson, PhD, historical archaeologist and regular contributor to the show. "Our goal is to help listeners make informed decisions about where to hunt and what equipment to use."
