DiSTI Launches All New GL Studio Micro™ for Automotive MCUs
TelAve News/10631568
The all-new GL Studio Micro™ is an HMI tool specialized for Automotive Micro Controller Units (MCUs) built upon GL Studio's Safety-Critical foundation.
ORLANDO, Fla. - TelAve -- The DiSTI Corporation, a pioneer in the development of graphical user interface software for over 20 years, today announced the launch of GL Studio Micro™, a C++ code generator and runtime library designed for Micro Controller Units (MCU) with no OpenGL support. GL Studio Micro™ provides a smaller memory footprint, faster startup time, and better runtime performance compared to other tools while offering a great number of efficiency features and capabilities for UI development.
"This release opens a host of new capabilities for GL Studio to offer high performance and high-reliability User Interfaces to mid and lower-end hardware markets," said Chris Giordano, VP of UX/UI Technology at The DiSTI Corporation "We are excited and honored to be working closely with our colleagues at Cypress in support of the Traveo MCU line for the initial roll out of GL Studio Micro."

Designed exclusively for Cypress MCUs, GL Studio Micro™ is the first tool of its kind to offer built-in ligatures support for Arabic, Hindi, and Thai while still natively supporting all other languages such as Korean, Chinese, Japanese, German, English, and more. GL Studio Micro™ allows customers to streamline their power consumption, heat signature, and costs without compromising the necessary fidelity to operate their User Interface.
"Cypress has worked closely with DISTI to ensure GL Studio Micro can deliver its versatility and broad support required for the wide range of automotive markets where Traveo II will be deployed," said Sven Natus, vice president of the Automotive Business Unit at Cypress. "Traveo II is among the most advanced of MCUs for automotive cluster and other graphics applications, and with GL Studio Micro, it is now an even stronger solution for automotive OEMs."

GL Studio was the first User Interface (UI) tool to achieve ISO-26262 ASIL D, making its runtime engine one of the only solutions on the market that delivers the entire embedded user interface runtime library source that is certified up to Automotive Safety Integrity Level D; the highest classification of safety criticality defined by the ISO 26262 standard. The GL Studio Micro™ technology is based on this award-winning Safety-Critical runtime, providing customers with a safe and reliable development foundation, allowing OEM's and Tier 1's to use GL Studio to completely certify their entire display framework.
