Dive Into Summer: Registration Underway for Mesa Parks and Recreation Programs

~ Mesa, AZ - As summer approaches, residents of Mesa are gearing up for a season filled with fun and exciting activities. The city has recently announced that registration for their summer camps and recreation programs is now open for all Mesa residents. Non-residents will be able to register starting on Monday, April 13 at 8 a.m.

From youth camps to adult sports and family-friendly activities, Mesa offers a wide range of opportunities for people of all ages to stay active, learn new skills, and connect with the community. The city's Parks and Recreation department has put together an impressive lineup of programs that cater to different interests and abilities.

For adults, there are various sports options such as tennis, pickleball at six different parks, volleyball, softball, and Recess for Adults. This program offers a new sport or game each week to keep things interesting. Youth can also participate in tennis and summer sports camps as well as specialized camps like Olympic Sports Camp, judo, indoor playball multi-sport, gymnastics, and ice skating.

Teenagers can also get in on the action with programs like pickleball and tennis camps and tournaments. They can also take part in the Super Smash Bros.- eSports Tournament or engage in leadership training workshops. For those interested in STEM activities, there are plenty of options available as well.

The city has also made sure to include individuals with developmental disabilities by offering adaptive recreation programs such as summer camps, pickleball, recreational bowling, stand-up paddleboard classes, Foam Fiesta events, and Adaptive TGIF gatherings.

Mesa Aquatics will be offering private swim lessons as well as group classes for all ages. They will also have aquatic sports teams for those looking for a more competitive experience. Dive-In Movies will be held throughout the summer at various pools around the city.

In addition to these programs, Mesa Parks and Recreation is expanding access through free mobile recreation programs. M.O.R.E. (Mesa Outdoor Recreation Experience) will be traveling to different parks, trails, and natural spaces throughout the week to offer outdoor and nature-based activities. Fun 'N Fitness will also be available at Pioneer Park and Kleinman Park, providing sports, games, crafts, and STEAM activities for all ages.

A full list of programs can be found in the summer PLAYBOOK Magazine. Registration for these programs can be done in four ways: online using the ACTIVENET Registration System, by email, phone, or in-person at the Mesa Parks and Recreation office.

For those who qualify, Mesa residents can receive a 50% discount on youth and adaptive programs through the MRS Discount. This is just one of the many ways that the city is making sure that everyone has access to these exciting summer programs.

The summer pool season in Mesa will officially kick off on May 23. To make things even more convenient for residents, discounted pool passes are currently available for purchase online or in-person at the Mesa Parks and Recreation Office. These passes provide unlimited visits to all City of Mesa pools. Household passes for up to four members are available for $150, with an additional $25 fee for each extra member. Individual passes are also available for $45.

It's important to note that these discounted prices are only available until May 23. After that date, prices will increase to $225 for household passes, $30 per additional member, and $56 for individual passes.
