DONCASTER, U.K. - TelAve -- Steven Bennett, founder of Ascend Coaching, has published his debut book, "If It Is to Be, It Is Up to Me," a personal account of the years that nearly cost him everything and the habits that helped him rebuild.

The book opens with Bennett standing alone in an office kitchen late at night, staring at a mug of cold coffee he had no memory of making. With his business approaching £20 million, he had reached the target he had worked toward for years. What he had not anticipated was feeling nothing at all.

Losing his father to cancer at 18, Bennett spent decades burying grief beneath relentless ambition. By the time his business was at its financial peak, he was privately battling depression, alcohol dependency, drug use and severe anxiety. His marriage reached breaking point. He found himself homeless. One night he arrived at a stark realisation: if he carried on the way he was going, he would not survive it.

With support from his wife Jill, life coach Kam Johal and therapist Dean Learoyd, he rebuilt himself from the inside out. He gave up alcohol and drugs cold turkey, developed a daily Power Hour of meditation, journalling, gratitude and movement, trained in NLP and became a certified Transformative Coach.

In the foreword, Alex Beevis, bestselling author and CEO of The Everyman Project, writes: "Most high-achievers lack permission to admit they're drowning, permission to put themselves first, permission to rewrite the story they've been telling themselves for decades. Steve gave himself that permission."
