Elpis: One Tiny Light Remains, a Mythic Science-Fiction Reimagining of Hope, Power and Humanity
TelAve News/10904021
Ancient Greek myth meets a distant technological future in a new science-fiction novel exploring creation, forbidden knowledge, power, and the one force humanity cannot afford to lose: hope.
DARWIN, Australia - TelAve -- Independent author Peta Oakes, writing as Gaelic Mac Dubhdara, announces the release of Elpis: One Tiny Light Remains, a mythic science-fiction novel that carries the ancient figures of Elpis, Zeus, Prometheus and Pandora into a technologically advanced future where the survival of humanity may depend upon something seemingly insignificant: one tiny light of hope.
Three were created. Only one was hope.
At the heart of the story lies Project Pandora, an extraordinary undertaking in which ancient archetypes are reborn within a world of advanced technology, artificial creation, immense power and dangerous knowledge. Zeus represents order and preservation. Prometheus embodies knowledge and truth. Between them stands Elpis (hope) carrying a power that neither domination nor knowledge alone can reproduce.

Drawing inspiration from the ancient Greek tradition of Pandora, in which Elpis (Hope) remains when the evils of the world are released, the novel transforms one of mythology's most enigmatic ideas into a futuristic exploration of humanity's relationship with its creators and its own capacity for survival.
Against a backdrop of towering cities, advanced science, engineered beings and technologies capable of reshaping civilisation, the struggle between Zeus and Prometheus becomes more than a conflict between opposing powers. It raises questions about whether humanity should be protected through order or liberated through knowledge, whether truth is always worth its consequences, and what remains when both certainty and control begin to fail.
Elpis occupies the fragile space between these competing visions.
She is neither the strongest nor the most powerful of those created. Yet within her exists something that cannot easily be engineered, commanded or extinguished. As the purpose of Project Pandora begins to unfold, Elpis must confront the meaning of her own creation and the possibility that humanity's future was never intended to rest with its most powerful creation at all.
